China Day 10

This was the day we left for Hong Kong.  (It is cheaper to fly out of Hong Kong than Guangzhou.)

We all got ready and packed.  Abriana and I headed down to the convenience store to spend the rest of our money.  It didn't quite work out the way we planned, but we did get some snacks for the trip.

Check out was at 1:30 and Elsie was there with Allee's passport with her Visa and the rest of the paperwork we needed to come home.  There were 2 Hong Kong vans waiting outside.  One was for us, and the other for another family.  We got checked out of the hotel, said goodbye to Elsie, and everything into the van.  That is when I started feeling sick.  I was just sure I was going to throw up in this van.  It was a very nice, new van.  Luckily, I never did.  The experience of this drive was not the best.  It was like driving through L.A. for about an hour, stopping for gas and potty, and then hopping on the freeway for another 2 hours.

We finally arrived at our hotel, which is attached to the Hong Kong airport and got checked in.  Airplanes were landing right outside our window.  The smog in Hong Kong is about a hundred times worse than any I have ever seen.  We took a little tour of the hotel, and decided we didn't really feel like swimming once we finally found the pool.  Dinner was instant chicken noodle soup, crackers, tuna, and fruit cups in the room.
